The parish of Hohenwestedt is in the southern part of Rendsburg- Eckernförde. At the moment it has nearly 5000 inhabitants and because of its service industries and commercial companies it has a shopping centre for the surrounding communities. There are 19 parishes with 7000 inhabitants nearby.
